ANXIOUS OBJECTS: WILLIE COLE'S FAVORITE BRANDS
ANXIOUS OBJECTS was published in late 2005 as a companion to Willie Cole's first comprehensive survey show of the same title.
The exhibition traveled to 6 major US museums between 2006 and 2008 and broke museum attendance records at every venue. This
book includes over 100 full color images of Cole's work ranging from his 2 dimensional works from the 1980's up to the earliest
examples of the iconic shoe sculptures from 2005. It also includes a conversation between the artist and Leslie Hammond
King of the Maryland Institute College of Art, an essay by Lowery Stokes Sims of the Museum of Art and Design (NYC), and extensive
text compiled from interviews and conversations between the artist and Patterson Sims; the exhibition curator and director
of the Montclair Art Museum (NJ).
